Title Case rules
This converter follows common headline style: capitalise the first and last word and all major words, and keep short articles, conjunctions and prepositions (a, an, the, and, but, or, for, of, on, in, to, with, at, by) lowercase unless they come first. Style guides such as AP and Chicago differ on details, so check your publication's rules for formal work.
Fixing text typed with Caps Lock on
Paste the text and press Sentence case. The converter lowercases everything, then capitalises the first letter of each sentence and the word "I". Check proper nouns like names and places afterwards.
Want styled text instead of capitals? Try the fancy fonts generator. Need to count what you wrote? Use the character counter.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalise Each Word?
Capitalise Each Word capitalises every word. Title Case leaves small words like "and", "of" and "the" in lowercase unless they start or end the title.
Does the converter keep my line breaks?
Yes. Upper, lower, title, sentence and alternating cases keep your lines. Code cases (camel, snake, kebab) convert each line separately.
Can I undo a conversion?
Yes. Press Undo to step back through your previous versions.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Conversion happens in your browser.
